MacroRisk Factor - Housing Starts

Housing starts is the total number (in millions) of new housing units (houses and farms) built each year as reported by the U.S. Bureau of the Census. If there are more homes built, in general, it means that people have more money to spare in a given year. This means that Housing Starts is a good measure of how prosperous the economy is at a particular time. This number is seasonally adjusted at annual rates.
